The Australian Karate Federation (AKF) is pleased to announce that the 48th National Championships will be held on 5-7 August 2022. The event was first offered to Karate Victoria (based on previous arrangements) but unfortunately, no suitable venue was available. As such, the event will be hosted by either the Queensland Karate Association or the NSW Karate Federation, pending suitable venue availability. This will be confirmed in the coming week.

The AKF Board recognises the leadership and commitment to the National Championships of the Board of the WA Karate Federation. WAKF has continued to make decisions that are for the betterment of the sport across the entire country. This is acknowledged and greatly appreciated. The entire karate community is looking forward to traveling to Perth for the National Championships in 2023!

The AKF hopes that this information will assist the karate community support the State Team registration process as we look to host this premier event for the first time since 2019!
