Karate Instructor Accreditation

The aim of this policy is to ensure that the Australian Karate Federation Inc has in place a system which will enable Karate Instructors to maintain a safe, responsible and high standard of practice, in keeping with current principles and competencies.

The system is designed to provide the following benefits:

  • Instructors will be up-to-date with instruction competencies, delivering a safe, responsible and high standard of instruction to their students/athletes in line with their responsibilities and duty of care as am instructor
  • current contact details will be kept on all instructors for the purpose of improved communication
  • all instructors will hold current first aid certification to ensure a minimum level of competence in dealing with life threatening emergency situations during karate practice
  • status of the accredited instructor will be improved due to their superior knowledge
  • instructors will have an improved and more effective commitment to their instruction if they are AKF Accredited Karate Instructors

Eligibility

  • 16 years or older
  • Minimum Karate grade of 3rd Kyu with an AKF member organisation

Your accreditation period starts when the AKF receives notification that all accreditation requirements have been met. The AKF will inform instructors before the expiry of the accreditation period, at the address listed on the database.
